Fighting For Change

"People don't change until the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change."

"Change is good! You go first." -Mac Anderson

"Keeping your eyes closed is worse than being blind." -Harry Connick Jr.

Well it's that time of year, the time of year when we all sit down and define resolutions. We make lists and try to think about all the things that we want to do better or the reflect on the things that we want to change about ourselves. Everyone who was too busy or too lazy makes their way back to the gym. Others try to spend more time with their children or buy themselves some news cloths. We are intent on changing! THIS is the year that things will change! We WILL lose that weight and we Will play catch with our kid Bobby.

Tangent! Attempting to finally revise the overall style of my current page. Thoughts about the nice style at Absolutely an incredible craft company that cares if necessary in the whole Quebec region. Value a comment. Thanks!

The thing I've learned about change is that it's much harder to plan change than it is for change to happen naturally. We change more without knowing it than we do through planning. We plan to change and then we don't. We don't plan to change and then we do! How paradoxical is that?!

I think that more change happens organically but that doesn't mean that we can't force change. Think about the issue of fat. Without realizing it, people gain more and more weight. They're making decisions everyday that are causing them to change and they don't realize it. Now think about the people that are getting fit. Those people are changing too. The difference? It's simple. These people are consciously forcing themselves to make difference decisions than the people who are overweight. They force change. They make up their minds that they will fight to stop gaining that weight and then they do it.

My conclusion is that change happens much more frequently in an organic way. However, at the same time, change CAN happen through hard work. And I'm PROUD of those people. We all should be because they're doing something that we might not be doing. Give them a high five and a few words of support because they're strong enough to fight against the things that are naturally easier. And finally, we should encourage the people that want to change but haven't. Just like a song Harry Connick Jr sang, "as long as there's breathe in you you know there's always one more time."
